Marjan: A Stunning Bio-Morphic Bridge Inspired by Coral

An Architectural Marvel on Kish Island

Marjan Bridge is an iconic project which is based on biomorphic design. The inspiration idea of this symbolic design comes from coral and some other creatures that live in and around coral reefs for their survival such as crabs and shrimps. This site is located in an exceptional area of a tropical coral island known as the Pearl of the Persian Gulf named Kish Island. This project is a multi-function bridge with 680 meters walking path, many cozy spaces, café tera, gym, and marine park. These spaces can contribute to a community’s vitality to seat, slow down, and enjoy the present moments.

The Marjan Bridge, designed by Saber Sajadi, is a breathtaking architectural and engineering masterpiece that draws inspiration from the beauty and resilience of coral reefs. The bridge's unique form mimics the growth and movement of corals, creating a stunning visual spectacle that captivates viewers.

Located on Kish Island in the Persian Gulf, the Marjan Bridge stands as a testament to the island's natural beauty and the intricate ecosystems that thrive beneath its waters. The bridge not only serves as a functional pedestrian pathway but also offers a range of amenities and attractions for visitors to enjoy.

One of the standout features of the Marjan Bridge is its central floating mobile restaurant and stage. This innovative addition allows visitors to sit on the bridge and enjoy concerts or other entertaining shows from above, while the restaurant can move around to enhance the viewing experience. It's a unique fusion of architecture, entertainment, and technology that creates unforgettable moments for all who visit.

The bridge's design is a harmonious blend of bio-morphic elements and modern architectural aesthetics. Its organic shape, reminiscent of coral formations, ensures there are no dead points from any viewing angle. The white architecture seamlessly blends with the surrounding environment, creating the illusion of a massive coral structure emerging from the coast.

Constructed using advanced design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Rhino, the Marjan Bridge showcases the possibilities of modern technology in architecture. The structure's dimensions span 360 meters in length, 215 meters in width, and 37 meters in height, with a 680-meter walking path that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the bridge and its surroundings.

The Marjan Bridge is not just a bridge; it's a destination. With a concert hall, marina park, cafes, and a gym located on either side of the bridge wings, visitors can indulge in various activities while enjoying the panoramic views of the Persian Gulf. The central floating restaurant and stage provide a unique dining experience, with both indoor and outdoor seating options and the ability to adjust the stage for different entertainment shows.

The construction of the Marjan Bridge began in September 2019 and is currently underway. Once completed, it will become a symbol of Kish Island's beauty and a testament to the innovative design and engineering capabilities of Saber Sajadi and his team, which includes Navid Mirzamohamadkhalaji, Omid Mirzamohamadkhalaji, and Mojtaba Fallahzadehghomi.

The Marjan Bridge has garnered recognition and acclaim, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Construction and Real Estate Projects category in 2021. This prestigious award honors designs that are well-designed, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements. The Marjan Bridge stands as a testament to the fusion of art, engineering, and functionality, creating a landmark that will inspire and awe visitors for generations to come.
